McIntosh

(1) A type of apple from which Apple Computer named its first GUI-based computer. See Macintosh and Mac computer.

(2) (McIntosh Laboratory, Inc., Binghamton, NY) McIntosh Labs is a maker of very high-end hi-fi equipment. Founded in 1949 by Frank McIntosh, after more than 70 years in business, McIntosh gear is coveted by audiophiles worldwide. See A/V receiver.
