Min-Tuan

Min-T’uan

 

(people’s militia), detachments of prolandowner forces in China prior to the victory of the people’s revolution in 1949. They consisted chiefly of declasse elements. With the help of the Min-t’uan, the landowners fought the peasant movement and extorted rent payments.
