Misiones

 

a province in northeastern Argentina. Area, 29,-800 sq km; population, 443,000 (1970). The capital is Posadas. Misiones is located in a humid subtropical region. It is Argentina’s main region for the cultivation of tea (primarily mate), tung trees, and citrus fruits. Agricultural products are processed, and there is a lumber industry.
