Metro interface

Metro interface

The original name of the user interface in Windows 8 and Windows Phone 7.5. In contrast to the previous Windows 7 version, the Metro style adopted the flat look (see flat UI). Officially the "Microsoft Design Language," other names were also used for this style from time to time, including "Windows 8 style UI," "New User Interface" and "Modern UI." In 2017, Microsoft moved to a new interface style that abandoned the flat look (see Microsoft Fluent Design System). See Windows Phone, Windows 10, Win10 abc's, Windows 8 and Win8 abc's.
