Mollakara

 

a mud-bath health resort in the Turkmen SSR, in the Karakum; located 5 km from the Dzhebel railroad station, 134 km from Krasnovodsk, and 555 km from Ashkhabad.

The summers are very hot (average July temperature, 31°C), and the winters mild (average January temperature, 1°C). Annual precipitation is about 130 mm. Bottom muds and brine from Lake Mollakara are the treatments, which are suitable for patients with diseases of the musculoskeletal system, the female reproductive system, and the peripheral nervous system. Mollakara has a sanatorium and mud-bath facilities.
