Morkoka

 

a river in western Yakut ASSR, a right tributary of the Markha River (Viliui basin). Length, 841 km; basin area, 32,400 sq km. The Morkoka River rises in Lake Baiyttakh and meanders along the Viliui Plateau in a deep valley. The river is fed by snow and rain. The Morkoka freezes in early October and thaws in May.
