Moshoeshoe II

 

(Moshesh). Born May 2, 1938. King (paramount chief) of Lesotho since 1960. Elder son of Paramount Chief Seeiso Griffith; attended Oxford University. In December 1970, at the demand of Prime Minister L. Jonathan, Moshoeshoe II took an oath that required him under penalty of removal to refrain from all political activity.
