Mushketov, Mount

 

a mountain peak on the Vitim Plateau, in the basin of the upper Vitim River, in the Buriat ASSR. Elevation, 1,012 m. Composed of Neocene-Anthropogene basalts, Mount Mushketov rises 300 m above the basalt plateau. It is an ancient volcano whose slopes are covered with larch taiga. It was named after I. V. Mushketov.
