Murphy, Gerald (Clery)

(1888–1964) painter, businessman, patron; born in Boston, Mass. A wealthy painter, he lived near New York and in France (c. 1921), and took over his father's firm, the Mark Cross Company, New York (1931). A patron of the arts, he was the friend of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald.
