Myoblasts

immature uninucleate spindle-shaped muscle cells of animals and humans. Striated multinucleate muscle fibers are formed from myoblasts during embryonic development and during repair processes in skeletal muscles (regeneration).

They grew these myoblasts by many folds and then put them into a supportive 3-D scaffolding filled with a nourishing gel that allowed them to form aligned and functioning human muscle fibers.
Signaling molecules can also contribute to terminal differentiation of myoblasts and myotube formation.
(5) found a decrease in the expression of atrogin-1 and MuRF-1 in skeletal myotubes when incubated with myostatin, along with a decrease expression of MyoD and myogenin, two genes involved in the differentiation of myoblasts. The authors postulated that myostatin was able to block muscle differentiation program even when incubated in already mature myotubes.
Interleukin 17 inhibits myogenic and promotes osteogenic differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts by activating ERK1,2.
Similarly, other clinical trials using myoblasts or MDSCs in treatment of female SUI were published by Blaganje et al, (27) Carr et al, (28) and Stangel-Wojcikiewicz.
Myoblasts were exposed to IL-1[beta] and IFN-[gamma], which led to upregulation of APP and subsequent accumulation of [beta]-amyloid and [beta]-sheet-rich proteins in thioflavin-S-staining (Figure 2).
Myeloid sarcoma is a rare pathology that is seen as focal tumor in 2% of leukemia patients [1], comprising mainly extramedullary accumulation of immature myeloid cells/ myoblasts. These tumors often coincide with diagnoses of acute myeloid leukemia or chronic myeloproliferative diseases [2-6].
C2C12 mouse myoblasts were cultured in DMEM containing 10% FBS and maintained in a humidified incubator with 5% C[O.sub.2] at 37[degrees]C.
Microinjection of calpastatin inhibits fusion in myoblasts. Experimental Cell Research, 247: 293-303.
H9c2 rat cardiac myoblasts were cultured and maintained as monolayer in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM), high glucose, supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (heat inactivated), 100 units/ml penicillin, 100 ig/ml streptomycin, and 2.5 ig/ml amphotericin B, at 37[degrees]C in humidified incubator with 5% C[O.sub.2] (26).
The tumor like growths in different organs may include different cell types (ex: fibroblasts, angioblasts, glioblasts, neuroblasts and cardiac myoblasts).
