(Nippon Hoso Kyokai, Japan Broadcasting Corporation), a Japanese radio broadcasting corporation, a semigovernmental organization. Founded in 1925, the corporation is located in Tokyo. NHK has 4,289 radio and television stations throughout the country (1975).

It operates two terrestrial television services, NHK General TV (96% of Digital GTV would be in HD 2005) and NHK Educational TV (42% of Digital ETV would be in HD 2005), three satellite services, NHK BS-1, NHK BS-2 and NHK Hi-Vision (100% HD) and three radio networks, NHK Radio 1, NHK Radio 2 and NHK FM.
To launch the new season, MLBI rightsholder NHK BS-1 will broadcast a different MLB game featuring Japanese-born players each day from April 2-6.
In addition to being broadcast nationwide on NHK BS-1, the games also will be shown at major retail outlets in Japan that sell officially licensed MLB products and on large screen TVs in high-traffic areas throughout the greater metropolitan Tokyo area.
