Turukalo, Nadezhda Prokop’evna


Born Apr. 16, 1947, in Ust’-Kamenogorsk. Soviet underwater swimmer and teacher. International-class Master of Sport (1971).

Turukalo was on several occasions a champion and record-holder of the USSR, Europe, and the world. She won 53 medals, including 39 gold medals. She has been awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor.
