Najafabad

(näjäf'äbäd`), city (1991 pop. 160,004), Esfahan prov., W central Iran, near Esfahan. It is the trade center for an agricultural region noted for its pomegranates.

a city in Iran in the ostan (province) of Isfahan, on the highway to Iraq. Population, 46,000 (1971). Najafabad is the trade center of an agricultural region (primarily the raising of almonds, apricots, walnuts, grapes). Dried fruits are produced.
