Nani

 

the self-designation of several Tungus-Manchu linguistic and ethnic groups in the Amur River region and on Sakhalin Island—the Olcha, Oroki, and Orochi. The present-day name of the Nanai peoples is related to the root (nan-) of the word “Nani.”
