Nellore

(nĕlōr`), city (1991 pop. 316,606), Andhra Pradesh state, SE India, on the Penner River. Nellore is a district administrative center and a market for cotton and oilseed. It also has milling and processing industries.

Nellore

 

a city in India in the state of Andhra Pradesh on the Penner River near where it empties into the Bay of Bengal. Population, 133,600 (1971). Pottery is manufactured in Nellore. There are extensive mica deposits south of the city.
