Ethernet hub

A central switching point that all devices on an Ethernet segment plug into. Also known as a "multiport repeater" and sometimes called a "concentrator, the hub shares the total bandwidth among all users. Ethernet switches have replaced Ethernet hubs (see hub vs. switch).
