Ning

A website that is used to create custom social networking sites. Co-founded by Marc Andreessen and Gina Bianchini and launched in 2005, Ning offers pricing plans for 150, 10,000 and unlimited members as well as provides a free service for educational institutions. Ning-created social sites are built with a variety of design tools and can include blogs, forums, embedded video and the capability of monetizing ads. Glam Media acquired the company in 2011.
