Nintendo thumb

A repetitive stress injury (RSI) to the thumb due to excessive video game playing. It causes a swelling at the base of the thumb. Coined in the 1990s, this malady also affects people who use their thumbs to punch digits into cellphones and other handheld devices. See medical conditions and thumb culture.
