No critical ion suppression was observed in the buffer solution, but the synthetic OF caused ion suppression of up to almost 100% for 9 of the analytes (chlordiazepoxide, diazepam, nordiazepam, flunitrazepam, oxazepam, alprazolam, zolpidem, and MDON).
The linear range for diazepam, nordiazepam, and oxazepam in whole blood was 3-750 [micro]g/L (total concentration), corresponding to 0.
Two of the main metabolites of diazepam, nordiazepam and oxazepam, were monitored as well.
Target drugs that were used to fortify drug-free matrix were n-methamphetamine, nordiazepam, BE, PCP, and THCA.
The following controls were run routinely in each assay: cutoff calibrator (morphine, 10 [micro]L; D-methamphetamine, 100 [micro]g/L; nordiazepam, 100 [micro]g/L; BE, 150 [micro]g/L; PCP, 10 [micro]g/L; THCA, 30 [micro]g/L); negative control (drug-free blood or urine); positive blood control (morphine, 100 [micro]g/L; D-methamphetamine, 300 [micro]g/L; nordiazepam, 300 [micro]g/L; BE, 300 [micro]g/L; PCP, 15 [micro]g/L; THCA, 50 [micro]g/L); and positive urine control (morphine-3-glucuronide, 300 [micro]g/L; D-methamphetamine, 300 [micro]g/L; nordiazepam, 500 [micro]g/L; BE, 300 [micro]g/L; PCP, 15 [micro]g/L; THCA, 50 [micro]g/L).
