Norvin Green State Forest


Location:Bordering Ringwood, West Milford, and Bloomingdale, off Highway 511. Parking at Weis Ecology Center on Snake Den Road, or along Burnt Meadow Road and Glen Wild Road.
Facilities:Hiking trails, scenic vistas.
Activities:Hiking, fishing, ice fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing, birdwatching.
Special Features:Part of the Wyanokie Wilderness Area, the forest is near Wanaque Reservoir and features an extensive trail system developed from old logging roads. Several trails link up with public and private facilities, including the Weis Ecology Center and reservoir property.
