Nova Iguaçu

 

a city in southeastern Brazil, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Population, including suburbs, 727,700 (1970). An important industrial center, Nova Iguaçu has a railroad station. Its principal industries are ferrous metallurgy, oil refining, food processing, and the production of chemicals.
