The monitoring mission of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine has visited Novoaidar
of Luhansk region, which is a centre of the area with one of the longest parts of the demarcation line on its territory.
The SMM has previously opened five FPBs in Donetsk region: in government-controlled Volnovakha, Pokrovsk (formerly Krasnoarmiisk), Svitlodarsk, and non-government-controlled Horlivka and Debaltseve; and three in Luhansk region: in government-controlled Novoaidar
and Stanytsia Luhanska and non-government-controlled Kadiivka (formerly Stakhanov).
Whilst located in government-controlled Novoaidar
(49km north-west of Luhansk), the SMM recorded about 100 rounds of small arms, approximately 50 bursts of machine-gun fire, and three-five explosions assessed to be outgoing automatic grenade launcher rounds 2-5km west of its position.
With todays openings, the SMM now has Forward Patrol Bases in the following locations: four in government-controlled areas: Volnovakha, Krasnoarmiisk, Svitlodarsk (Donetsk region) and in Novoaidar
(Luhansk region); as well as three in areas outside of government control: in Stakhanov (Luhansk region), and in Horlivka and Debaltseve (Donetsk region
It is implemented in four green households in Novoaidar
district which became temporary shelters for internally displaced people in Eastern Ukraine.
