an urban-type settlement; center of Novoarkhangel’sk Raion, Kirovograd Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 69 km from the Pomoshnaia railroad junction (lines to Odessa, Znamenka, Cherkassy, and Podgorodnaia). The settlement has a food-processing plant, a cheese dairy, a mixed-feed plant, an asphalt plant, and a brickyard.



(or New Archangel), name used in the 19th century for the city of Sitka on Baranof Island in southeastern Alaska.
