a city (since 1966) and administrative center of Novoazovsk Raion, Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, situated on the Sea of Azov at the mouth of the Gruzskii Elanchik River, 42 km east of Zhdanov. Population, 13,000 (1973). Industrial enterprises include a brickyard and a food-processing combine. Novoazovsk has a museum of combat and labor glory.
