Novovolynsk

 

a city (since 1957) under oblast jurisdiction in Volyn’ Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 18 km from the Ivanichi railroad station. Population, 44,000 (1974). There is coal mining. Novovolynsk has a mining-equipment repair plant, a brickyard, a plant producing reinforced-concrete items, a wood-products combine, a cotton-spinning factory, and food-processing enterprises, as well as the general-technical department of the L’vov Polytechnic Institute and an evening mining-construction technicum.
