Novyi Bug

 

a city (since 1961) and center of Novyi Bug Raion, Nikolaev Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 5 km from the Novyi Bug railroad station (on the Nikolaev-Znamenka line). Population, 17,000 (1974). Novyi Bug has a cheese plant and a furniture factory. It is the site of a pedagogical school and a technicum for the mechanization and electrification of agriculture.
