19 April 2013 - Greek telecoms operator Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation SA (FRA:OTE), or OTE, is expected to ask bidders for its Bulgarian unit Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile EAD, doing business as Globul, to make higher offers next week and then, based on the final price, it would decide on whether to sell it, Reuters reported citing people in the know.
Interested buyers include the Turkish Turk Telekom and Turkcell, the Norwegian Telenor, and Deutsche Telekom, which has 40% stake in OTE.
The agency believes the operating prospects for the company have not changed significantly since March 8, 2011 when it downgraded OTE despite the recent rating reduction on Greece to BB-.
