Size: 702 acres.
Established: Authorized on June 14, 1934.
Location:On the east side of Macon, Georgia, on US 80 east (Emery Highway). Main access is from I-75 to I-16 east, at the north end of Macon, and then the second exit from I-16 (Coliseum Exit).
Facilities:Picnic area, rest rooms (é), visitor center (é), museum/exhibit, self-guided tour/trail. Entrance fee required.
Activities:Hiking, fishing, ranger-led programs.
Special Features:Traces of 12,000 years of Southeastern culture from Ice Age Indians to the historic Creek Confederacy are preserved here, including the massive temple mounds of a Mississippian Indian ceremonial complex that thrived between AD 900 and 1100 and many artifacts.

The Muscogee people twice passed resolutions that the northern boundaries of their cultural property should stop at the existing northern boundary of Ocmulgee National Monument.
