Oil Reclamation
the recovery of the useful properties of exhausted lubricants in order that the lubricants may be reused. During oil reclamation, the following operations are performed in various combinations: settling, which removes water and solid suspensions; sorption processing, in which oil is passed through a layer of sorbent, removing various impurities; and filtering, which more finely purifies oil from mechanical impurities and moisture. Filters with permanent magnets and centrifu-gation, which provide the highest degree of purification, are used to capture extremely fine metal particles.
