Kom Ombo

 

a city in the south of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the right bank of the Nile, in the province of Aswan. Population, 27,200 (1966). Kom Ombo has a railroad station, a sugar industry, and a cotton gin. There is a Hellenistic temple in the city (second-first centuries B.C.).
