Megaupload

A Hong Kong-based file sharing website that provided a number of Mega-prefixed services (MegaVideo, MegaPix, etc.), including image and video hosting and streaming. On January 19, 2012, coincidentally a day after the U.S. anti-piracy bill protest by Wikipedia and others, Megaupload's sites were shut down and its principals arrested by the FBI based on the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (see DMCA). See Internet piracy.
