Generally, the deep-sea fishes found at the lower abyssal depths are macrourids (rat-tails) and ophidiids (cusk-eels), and at hadal depths, liparids (snailfish).
Conversely, carangids, chlopsids, congrids, muraenids, ophichthids, ophidiids, and tetraodontids were not represented in light-trap samples.
