Influenza viruses are enveloped RNA viruses belonging to the orthomyxoviridae. To detect an antiviral activity of Bioaron C[R] against orthomyxoviridae four different members were chosen: two members belonging to the genus of influenza A viruses: influenza A H1N1 (FluA H1N1) and FluA H3N2 and in addition two members belonging to the genus of influenza B viruses: FIuB Yamagatal and FluB Beiying.
Influenza, often referred to as the flu, is caused by an RNA virus of the family Orthomyxoviridae. This family of RNA viruses includes the following five genera: influenza viruses A, B, and C, Isavirus, and Thogotovirus (1).
