Oscillation, Frequency of

 

(also oscillation frequency), the number of complete oscillations per unit time. For harmonic oscillations, the frequency f = 1/T, where T is the period of the oscillations. The unit of frequency is one oscillation per second, which is called a hertz. A quantity that is often used is the angular frequency ω = 2πf.
