Otavi

 

a city in northern Namibia. Otavi is an important railroad junction on the Swakopmund-Tsumeb line, with a branch line to Grootfontein. It is the center of a complex-ore and vanadium mining region. Mining operations are carried out by the Tsumeb Company, which is controlled by American capital.
