In northern NJ on the NY border, northwest of Newark; organized Feb 7, 1837 from Bergen and Sussex counties. Name Origin: For the Passaic River; its name is from a Delaware Indian term passaic or passajeek, variously translated as 'peace' or 'valley.'

    The Passaic County Board of Realtors announced it has officially merged with the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors, meaning the organization will represent over 12,000 realtors and real estate industry professionals in the Garden State.
