In northern KY, south of Covington; established Dec 4, 1787 from Campbell and Bracken counties. Name Origin: For Edmund Pendleton (1721-1803), member of the Continental Congress (1774-75), active in establishment of state of VA, and president of the VA supreme court of appeals (1779-1803)
