a city (since 1964) and administrative center of Pereval’sk Raion, Voroshilovgrad Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located 7 km from the Kommunarsk railroad station on the Voroshilovgrad-DebaPtsevo line. Population, 32,000 (1974). Coal is mined in Pereval’sk, and there is a plant that manufactures reinforced-concrete articles. The city has food enterprises, including a meat-packing plant and a brewery. Educational institutions include an evening mining technicum.
