Permanganic Acid, HMnO4

 

a strong inorganic acid that corresponds to heptavalent manganese. It exists only in aqueous solutions. The anion MnC>4 has a crimson-violet color. Permanganic acid and its salts (permanganates) are extremely strong oxidizing agents.
