personal portal

A Web portal that is customized by the user. A personal portal is typically associated with a search engine such as Yahoo! and Google, although the My Yahoo! personal portal still exists but Google's iGoogle does not. The customized page displays selected information such as news, weather and stock quotes. If the portal publisher offers email or instant messaging (IM), links to those services are provided. See portal, gadget, widget and adaptive website.
