Personal Hygiene

 

a division of hygiene that elaborates the problems of maintaining and strengthening man’s health by the observance of a hygienic regimen in one’s personal life and activity. Personal hygiene embraces problems of hygienically maintaining the body (skin, hair, nails, and teeth), footwear and clothing, and housing and rules of rational nutrition, hardening of the body, and physical culture. The problems of hygienic care of the sex organs and the hygiene of sex life are studied in sexology. The problems of proper organization of personal hygiene in the process of work activity are studied in occupational hygiene.
