Loculoascomycetes
[‚lō·kə·lō‚as·kō·mī′sēd‚ēz] (mycology)
A class in the subdivision Ascomycotina composed of organisms that form a well-developed mycelium which bears the sexual (ascus) and asexual (conidium) states, and that are distinguished from other ascomycetes by their method of ascocarp formation and their ascus structure.
