Phenacetin

 

a medicinal preparation that is used as an analgesic and to counteract inflammation and fever. Phenacetin is taken in powder or tablet form to combat headaches, neuralgias, and such ailments as the common cold. It is used in combination with other medicinal preparations, including Ascophen, Asphen, Citramon, Dicaphen, Novocephalgin, Pircophen, Pyraphen, and Sedalgin.
