Picasa

An earlier photo editor and organizer from Google that was available as a free download. A unique feature was its ability to use the same image in multiple albums without duplicating the file. Photos tagged as "Gold Star" favorites could be searched independently. Collections of photos were made private by adding passwords. Google acquired digital photo management company Picasa, Inc., in 2004 but discontinued it in 2016 in favor of its Photos service (see Google Photos). See also pICAsso.
