Porkhov

 

a city and administrative center of Porkhov Raion, Pskov Oblast, RSFSR. Porkhov is situated on the Shelon’ River, which empties into Lake Il’men’. It has a railroad station on the Pskov-Dno line, 75 km east of Pskov. Industrial enterprises include factories that produce relays and lime, flax-processing and cheese plants, and a furniture combine.
