Porrima

(por -ă-mă, po -ră-) (γ Vir) A visual binary with cream components that lies in the constellation Virgo and has a highly eccentric orbit (period 171 years). The separation, about 5″ in the 1970s and 6″.6 at maximum, is decreasing and by 2010 the star will appear single except in the largest telescopes. Porrima is also an optical double. mv : 3.5 (A and B), 2.75 (AB); spectral type: F0 V (A and B).
