a city (until 1971, a settlement) in Lenkoran’ Raion, Azerbaijan SSR. Situated on the Caspian Sea. Railroad station on the Osmanly-Novye-Astara line, 12 km north of the city of Lenkoran’. Population, 10,000 (1974). Port-Il’ich has a fish cannery, a repair yard for fishing vessels, and two sovkhozes specializing in vegetable growing.
