Facilities:22 primitive campsites, 1 primitive group camping site and 1 shelter site, picnic facilities, hiking trails, equestrian trails.
Activities:Camping, freshwater fishing, hunting, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ATV riding.
Special Features:The headwaters of the Potomac River originate here in this rugged mountain forest. It also contains the highest point in any Maryland state forest, Backbone Mountain, with an elevation of 3,220 feet.
