Primorsko-Akhtarsk

 

a city (since 1949) and administrative center of Primorsko-Akhtarsk Raion, Krasnodar Krai, RSFSR. Located on the Sea of Azov. Railroad station (Akhtari) 151 km northwest of the city of Krasnodar. Population, 28,000 (1974). Primorsko-Akhtarsk has a fish hatchery, a cooperage, a winery, and a milk plant, as well as fish and food combines. Other industries include the production of building materials and heat-insulating slabs. There is also a tourist center in the city.
