Pringle, Joel

Pringle, Joel (Roberts Poinsett)

(1873–1932) naval officer; born in Georgetown County, S.C. He served in the Spanish-American War and was the senior American officer at Queenstown, Ireland, during World War I (1917–19). He held several other naval appointments and died while serving as commander of the battleships, U.S. Fleet.
